Christie takes top job at Best Cities

Loren Christie (pictured right) has been appointed managing director of the Best Cities Alliance.
He held various leadership roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Destination Toronto and spent 20 years in broadcast television including a regular travel segment on CTV, Canada’s national TV network.
Looijen moves to Bali

Sander Looijen (pictured right) has been appointed general manager, Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali and the resort’s adjacent Bali International Convention Centre.
Looijen joined Marriott International in 2002 as management intern with The St Regis Shanghai and most recently was cluster general manager at Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel and Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung.

Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) is to resume flying to Perth, Western Australia, with a three times a week ex Tokyo Narita B787-9 schedule from October 29, 2023.
The service, which was suspended in March 2020, will go daily from March 30, 2024.

The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) reports it received 26,840 complaints related to flight disruptions last year - and it's dealing with a backlog of air passenger complaints of more than 47,000, with an 18-month estimated wait time for a case to be reviewed.

The to-and-fro negotiations between US carriers JetBlue and American Airlines with US authorities concerning the carriers' US Northeast operating alliance (NEA) continue, with the airlines asking to keep code-share and loyalty agreements in place in exchange for dumping joint scheduling and sales. Last month a judge ruled NEA violated US antitrust laws.
