AIM opens Portugal office

AIM Group International has opened a new office in Porto, Portugal, which will be managed by Nélia Fonte as business manager. The goal of the Group is to expand the area of activity to the North of Portugal, due to growth of Porto as destination for events as well as an important scientific and technological hub. Porto hosts outstanding universities, namely the Polytechnic, and is moving forward to becoming an economic centre for the region.

JetBlue-Spirit merger facing rough weather?

Bloomberg reports the USA's Justice Department and the Department of Transportation both are expected to file antitrust lawsuits to block the US$3.8 billion budget airline merger between JetBlue and Spirit Airlines on two grounds.
The first is that the DoJ believes the merger will result in lessened competition and therefore possibly more expensive airfares, while the Department of Transportation (DoT) will seek to block the transfer of Spirit's airline certificate to JetBlue, saying the merger will not be in the public interest.

IATA releases latest Safety Report
