The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has called on the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean to focus on infrastructure, costs and the region’s regulatory framework in order to maximise the economic and social benefits of aviation while accommodating the region’s expanding demand for air connectivity.

Tourism Central Australia (TCA) says it wants the Federal Government to allow foreign airlines to fly domestic routes in the Northern Territory - or to subsidise local airlines that are prepared to fly unprofitable routes - in its submission to the Federal Senate inquiry into the operation, regulation and funding of air route service delivery to rural, regional and remote communities.
