UK airports given room to grow?

UK airports are considering a variety of options that could see them handle more passengers (and planes) in the coming years, with London City granted permission to expand passenger numbers by 40 per cent and Luton and Gatwick waiting for government decisions on developments that would add flights.
The new Labour chancellor, Rachel Reeves, is stressing growth and planning reforms to get Britain building infrastructure again and has said she has “nothing against expanding airport capacity … I back our airports”.
