Continental reports poor August

US carrier Continental Airlines says its August traffic fell 3.9 per cent and revenue per available seat mile fell about 17 per cent year-over-year.

The company cut capacity by six per cent, helping load factors rise to 85.8 per cent.


Excluding its regional affiliate income, mainline revenue per available seat mile fell about 17.5 per cent from a year ago, the company said.
